(KMOV) - Some chefs around town have a following and Andy White is one of them.

KMOV

White has built a reputation for his meticulously prepared dishes with a bit of a French flair.

Sauce on the Street takes us to White's latest endeavor, which is his new restaurant Off the Vine located on Hampton Ave.

White has developed an approachable menu of American classics that have just enough unexpected twists to keep things interesting.

The Frisee Salad, for example, is topped off with a poached egg.

Off the Vine offers other dressed up casual fare like flatbreads topped with roasted apple, prosciutto and blue cheese.

When it comes to entrees, White doesn't disappoint, offering a flat iron steak with an onion-ey, cheesy potato casserole and spinach or the black grouper, which he serves on top of clam chowder.

Desserts are simple and worth the calories. White's Chocolate-Peanut Butter Cake is served warm.

And if you wish, you can purchase a bottle of wine or any of off the vine's house-made pickles, chicken salad or pesto to go.
