(KMOV) - A new restaurant in Clayton has already created quite a name for itself, bringing together the best flavors of several countries.

At Araka in the new crescent building in Clayton, Chef Marc Curran is creating dishes with French technique, Italian sensibility and Spanish flair. In other words, wonderfully balanced food flavored by Mediterranean culture and ingredients.

 

The dishes at Araka are deceptively simple, made with the best ingredients.

 

Fans of beet salad will love Araka's version, where toasty hazelnuts mingle with gorgonzola cheese and pomegranate seeds to heighten the sweet flavor of roasted beets.

 

Entrees run the gamut from a juicy pork chop with walnuts and winter greens to rich butternut squash ravioli that is given a flavor twist with the addition of lemon zest.

 

The menu is especially heavy on seafood dishes and one of the best is the big eye tuna which is served with arugala, olives and oranges.
