(KMOV) - Lebanon, Illinois is about 45 minutes from the Arch, and to a former Chicago businessman, the perfect place for an authentic soda fountain.

Residents flock to Dr. Jazz Soda Fountain and Grille to indulge in a wide array of ice cream treats.

One of their best sellers is the “George Bailey Sundae.”

It's two scoops of coconut joy ice cream, covered with rich fudge and shredded coconut.

If you'd prefer to eat your supper before dessert, they have plenty of menu choices.

Among them, a traditional hot dog that includes little hot peppers.

Another popular menu item is the Italian Beef Sandwich, which is thinly-sliced roast beef served on Italian bread and dipped in juice.

Both are served with fresh cut French fries.

For those searching for the lighter fare, try the signature Cashew Salad.

It consists of mixed greens and bacon tossed in homemade Raspberry Poppyseed Vinaigrette topped with grated Swiss cheese and cashews.
