(KMOV) -- On a recent Monday, I made a stop at Red Moon located just off Washington Avenue downtown.

To my delight, on Mondays, Chef Ryan Carberry is now offering blind tastings.

Some of the items he chooses are on the menu, some are not.

I prefer light fare so Chef Carberry chose to start with a lemongrass garlic soup.

My second course, my favorite, scallops wrapped in bacon sprinkled with a citrus dust.

My third and fourth courses consisted of short ribs served with a risotto and a halibut topped with a black bean butter sauce resting atop a sun choke puree.

To wrap up the evening, Chef Carberry offered a chocolate paradise cake which is bananas fried and served with a spicy chocolate sauce and cardamom-almond ice cream.
