Sauce on the Street: Atlas View VIDEO

(KMOV) -- It's not easy to find a place to enjoy a nightcap following a late night show.

A special dessert at Atlas

We found such a place in the Central West End.

Just north of Forest Park on Pershing Avenue you'll find Atlas.

For the past four years this gem has been providing a true bistro environment.

On a cold winter night, there's nothing like the cassoulet, which is a is a rich, slow-cooked bean casserole stuffed with lamb sausage among other items.

Chef and owner Michael Roberts also prides himself on the fish of the day.

The jumbo striped bass is prepared simply with a butter and lemon sauce.

For a late night treat, try the marjoliane. This layered delight looks like it might be really heavy, but we doubt you’ll have a problem finishing it off. The layers are dark chocolate, sponge cake, a nut mixture, and crem fresche.

Another favorite is the crem brulee. Chef Roberts uses a technique that perfects the dessert, not too stiff and certainly not runny.

Whether you’re looking for something comforting or a late night snack after the symphony, head to Atlas one of the Central West End’s best kept secrets.
