(KMOV) -- In honor of the Feast of St. Nick, a German custom dating back to the fourth century, Sauce magazine's Catherine Neville visited Foster Pond, IL.

The Dreamland Palace on Highway 156, features authentic German fare in a cozy restaurant.

Their specialties include Sauerbraten, which is marinated for seven days and served with a potato pancake and red cabbage.

Another featured dish, the beef rouladen. This German delicacy has a secret ingredient rolled up inside; a pickle.

If you like German beer, there are plenty to choose from.  

For dessert don't miss the traditional apple strudel.

The restaurant also features a more intimate setting; a cozy cottage right next to the main building that seats six.
