Wine season is here and thousands of St. Louisans will flock to the wine country for their chance to take in what has now become an event.

Blumenhof Vineyards is nestled off Highway 94 in the German settlement of Dutzow.

They take pride in the fact that Blumenhof wines are made solely of Missouri grapes.

"We’re not going outside the state and we're making wine from those grapes," said Mary Kalish, Blumenhof employee.

When you arrive at Blumenhof, grab a brat at the grill house or head indoors for to taste more than a dozen wines they have to offer.

"The best way to learn about wine is to come in and taste it yourself," she added.

One of their newest wines is gold medal winner, the rayon d'or.

It's one of the many medal-winning wines.
