ST. LOUIS (KMOV) -- A serious dose of flavor is on the menu at El Borracho, a new Mexican restaurant in downtown. Chef John Griffiths is serving up inexpensive yet innovative fare at this high energy spot.
If you're new to Mexican cuisine, try one of the gringo tacos made with a hard shell, garnished with shredded lettuce and cheese. For a taste of what tacos are meant to be, though, go authentic.
Recognizable fare like beef enchiladas are available, but take Sauce's advice and try the posole. This rich pork, hominy and chile stew packs a flavor punch.
El Borracho's chile relleno is great, not overcooked, so the chile stands up and adds flavor and texiture.
Light on the wallet and heavy on flavor, head to El Borracho for fantastic Mexican fare.
