ST. LOUIS (KMOV)- Sauce Magazine's Catherine Neville takes us to Fond for this week’s Sauce on the Street.

 

Located on Main Street in Edwardsville, Fond is an exciting addition to the St. Louis food scene. Chef and owner Amy Zupanci changes the menu daily, utilizing whatever ingredients are the freshest and the best available. Look for unusual yet traditional dishes, like borscht, which is served cold with a dollop of creme fraiche. Another stellar starter is the tuna tartar with brown butter.

 

Zupanci has the confidence to edit her work, so there isn't anything on the plate that doesn't belong. Salt-crusted beef is served with arugula and egg yolk. And blue snapper is enlivened with charmoula, a North African sauce.

 

Desserts are similarly well thought out and executed. Try the citrus pistacio cake or the pot de creme.
