(KMOV) -- A Town and Country woman is offering a large reward for her massive tortoise who has been missing for several months.
A 125-pound African tortoise named Leo, has been missing since June. The owner said he was able to get free while being temporary boarded at a vet’s house in Glencoe.
His owner is offering a $2,500 reward to the person who locates the tortoise as she is afraid he won’t survive the winter months as he doesn’t know how to hibernate.
Leo is 9-years-old, his shell is measured at 36 inches and he requires at least two people to carry him. The owner has had him since he was a baby. She said he responds to his name and will eat directly out of your hand.
She is offering a reward of $2,500 for anyone who finds Leo, increased from her original $1,500 offer.
Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Leo is asked to call Victoria Haegele at (314) 565-9103.
