(KMOV.com) -- If it’s not broke don’t fix it, unless the money comes from the federal government.
A News 4 viewer tipped Chris Nagus off to a million-dollar project involving the replacement of 880 curbs.
The repairs are supposed to help those in wheelchairs and those who are blind. No one thinks that's a bad idea, but many of the intersections slated for replacement are already accessible and in great shape.
In fact, some were constructed just five years ago. So a project to redo all of them seems unnecessary- especially considering lawmakers are supposed to be slashing $85 billion in spending.
That left News 4 asking “is this why we’re broke?”
