Batteries worth thousands stolen from St. Charles County construction site

(KMOV.com) – Police are investigating after thousands of dollars’ worth of batteries were stolen from bulldozers at a St. Charles County construction zone.

According to police, four batteries worth more than a $1,000 each were stolen sometime between late Thursday afternoon and Friday Morning from the cabs of two bulldozers involved in levee repair work north of St. Peters off Highway C near Silvers Road.  

Lt. David Tifenbrunn of the St. Charles County Sheriff’s Department said that the batteries each weigh more than 130 lbs. and are used to power construction equipment.

Tifenbrunn said that Busch Farms LLC, which owns the equipment, has offered a $5,000 reward for information leading to an arrest in the case.
