(KMOV.com) -- There is a controversy in Mo. Concerning what happens to your personal information when you hand it over to the state. The Department of Revenue is transferring information on conceal carry permits to a third party database within the Department of Homeland Security.
Some outraged Republicans said this violates a citizen’s privacy and the state’s privacy laws.
“Something is going on and there is some evidence that the Department of Revenue and the administration is in a low level freaking out,” said Missouri Lt. Governor Peter Kinder, “We’re going to find out some answers next week when the Director of Revenue comes before two legislative committees.”
In addition to the committee hearings, at least one lawsuit has been filed in Southeastern Mo. against the state.
