CHICAGO -- A 24-year-old Joliet man has been charged with reckless homicide after his car collided with a police cruiser, killing a passenger in his car.
The Chicago Sun-Times reports that Alex Reyes also was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, aggravated DUI resulting in death and aggravated DUI resulting in bodily harm.
Reyes was driving a car with three passengers when he crashed into the squad car late Friday on Chicago's west side.
The Cook County Medical Examiner's office says 18-year-old Anthony Camarillo of Chicago was thrown from the car and died at the scene.
Reyes and another passenger were injured and taken to a Chicago hospital. Two injured police officers were taken to another hospital.
