(KMOV)—Players and fans of the St. Louis University Basketball program are inspired by a boy that has a love of basketball like none other.
This special fan, Joshua Brown, 9, is battling an ongoing neurological illness that he won’t let knock him down. He is the ultimate Billikens fan; knowing how to impersonate the head coach Jim Crews or doing the ‘Mad March.’
His family was able to travel to San Jose to watch the SLU basketball team battle through to the Final Four in the NCAA Division 1 Tournament.
An organization called Friends of Jaclyn, works to improve the quality of life for children with pediatric brain tumor. The foundation pairs children with college and high school athletic teams; Joshua was paired with the SLU basketball program.
Brown was able to gain a friendship with SLU Forward Jake Barnett through the program. Barnett along with other players visited Brown in the hospital during treatments.
Through this program players were able to look past the wins and loses to a bigger perspective and Brown could find joy during his health battles.
