RICHMOND HEIGHTS, Missouri (KMOV.com) -- A suspect is in custody for allegedly spray painting the letters "KKK" on homes and cars in Richmond Heights, Missouri.
Police tell News 4’s Russell Kinsaul that the suspect is a 24-year-old white male that lives in the area.
Over the weekend seven cars, two homes and one fence were vandalized. Police say the suspect painted the letters “KKK” and “Obama” on the buildings and vehicles. Four of the victims were African American, the others were white.
Investigators tell News 4 the suspect was incoherent upon his arrest and is now being held at a psychiatric unit of a local hospital.
Detectives have not had the opportunity to speak with the client. Authorities say they are still not clear if the incident will be considered a hate crime.
