SPRINGFIELD, Il (KMOV.COM) – Same-sex marriage may soon become legal in Illinois.
On Thursday, the Illinois Senate is scheduled to vote on a bill that would legalize same-sex marriage. The bill was given the stamp of approval by a Senate committee in January.
The legislation was originally proposed during the last legislative session, but the committee held a vote on it in January because Senators wanted to make sure it had enough votes to pass.
Governor Pat Quinn says he will sign the bill if it makes it to his desk.
