Thousands turn out for St. Patrick's Day festivities downtown

(KMOV) – St. Patrick’s Day celebrations in St. Louis kicked off Saturday morning with the 33rd annual St. Patrick’s Day run downtown.
The streets were flooded with more than 12,000 runners, walkers, and wheelchair racers who turned out for the five-mile run, which started around 9 a.m.
The 42nd annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade, also known as the "Rite of Spring," started at noon at 18th and Market and ended at Broadway and Market at Kiener Plaza.
