News 4 at Noon Anchor
Emily Rau wears a lot of hats at KMOV. Find her reporting live from the field each weekday for News 4 This Morning, sitting in for Claire & Andre, and even tackling traffic when Alissa is away.
Emily also anchors News 4 at Noon.
After joining the team in July of 2012, she spent her first year at KMOV reporting from the St. Charles County newsroom, where she was responsible for writing, shooting, and editing her stories each day.
Emily is a St. Louis area native. She grew up in Washington, Missouri and graduated from Washington High School.
From there, Emily traveled down Interstate 70 to attend the Missouri School of Journalism. A fourth generation alum, Emily joined her parents and all three siblings in graduating from the University of Missouri. While at Mizzou, she worked her way through the ranks at the local NBC affiliate, KOMU. Starting as an editor her freshman year, Emily left as one of the primary student anchors, filling in on every newscast.
Before joining KMOV, Emily was a reporter at WVEC, the ABC affiliate in Norfolk, Virginia. There she covered everything from breaking news and crime, to tornados, hurricanes and the 2011 Virginia earthquake. Emily also reported extensively on the local military community. Covering deployments and homecomings for the Navy, Coast Guard and Air Force installations in Hampton Roads fostered a deep appreciation for military service members and their families.
In 2014, Emily won her first Emmy award, for contributing to a KMOV colleague’s report. She also won a Missouri Broadcasters award for the same story.
