Mike Colombo is back home in St.Louis joining the News 4 team as a reporter after working for almost two years at WHAS 11 in Louisville, KY. Colombo's News 4 debut came in April 2011 as part of the Good Friday Storm coverage. He filed reports from Lambert International Airport and North St. Louis County.
Most recently Colombo's live reporting from Henryville, IN brought some of the first live pictures to a national audience after a deadly tornado outbreak rocked Southern Indiana.
From the courtroom to the political arena and even the basketball court, Mike has covered a bit of everything in his young career. He helped expose corruption at Louisville Metro Animal Services, reported on the US Senate race between Rand Paul and Jack Conway, and chronicled the Kentucky Wildcats men's basketball team as they marched to the 2012 Final Four.
Reporting has taken Mike many places in the United States, but he's happy to say it's finally taken him home. Mike grew up in Dogtown, went to grade school at St.James the Greater and still calls South City home.
Colombo is a 2004 Vianney High School graduate where he was a proud member of Student Council and the soccer and basketball programs.
From Vianney Mike attended Quincy University where he graduated in 2008 with a broadcasting degree. He was a four year member of the men's soccer team and president of the schools NCAA Student Athlete Advisory Committee.
His television career began in Quincy, IL at NBC affilitate WGEM where he worked as a reporter and fill-in anchor.
