(St. Louis, MO) Once again, KMOV is the winner in late news for February according to The Nielsen Company. In the key Adult 25-54 demographic, News 4 at 10 on KMOV scored a 5.0 rating, beating out KSDK, KTVI, and KDNL for the top spot at 10pm for the third February ratings period in a row.
“No doubt this success was driven by KMOV’s accurate storm coverage and compelling, relevant investigative reports,” said KMOV Executive News Director Sean McLaughlin. News 4 at 10pm is anchored by Steve Savard and Sharon Reed.
KMOV’s strength in late news is also spreading to others newscasts. News 4 at 5pm ratings surged by 34% in A25-54, year to year, while KSDK remained flat and KTVI declined.
This is the third month of continued growth for St. Louis’ only all-female newscast. “Sharon Reed, Jasmine Huda and Katie Horner have quickly established a connection with St. Louis news viewers,” said KMOV President and General Manager Mark Pimentel. “There’s a different energy and character that makes this a unique evening newscast.”
The success can be seen in 6pm newscast as well, with the return of long time anchor Larry Conners, alongside Sharon Reed. News 4 at 6pm grew by 30% in the A25-54 demo, since the same time period in 2012.
Also, News 4 This Morning with the team of Andre Hepkins, Claire Kellett and Kent Ehrhardt was the fastest growing morning newscast in St. Louis during February, growing its A25-54 rating by 40% at 5am and 21% at 6am.
