(KMOV) – Hackers are using a computer glitch error claiming to be from Microsoft to access personal information at home and in the workplace.
The form of hacking is called social engineering. Hackers are taking advantage of Microsoft and their “send error reports” by cold calling users after they have had a glitch.
Tax season is a popular time for hackers to try and get their hands on personal information. If someone calls directly claiming to be with Microsoft, a bank or credit card company, it’s best to take their number and ask to call them back.
