PEORIA, AZ (CBS5) - A sexual romp in an apartment hot tub landed a Peoria mother, her boyfriend and another woman behind bars on various sex and child abuse charges Sunday night.
A resident of the Grey Star Sierra Apartments near Bell Road and 89th Avenue called police to report a small child walking around the complex crying and calling for his "mommy," according to a police officer's statement. The same person called a short time later to also report a fight near the pool and that the child's mother was believed involved.
Police arrived to find 28-year-old Gina Marie Rayner, her 30-year-old boyfriend, Anthony Vechiola and another woman having sex in the public spa, according to the statement. All had been drinking heavily and Rayner and Vechiola said they were leaving for Illinois the next day, according to the statement.
They continued to have sex even after the officer told them to stop, according to the statement. They were eventually separated and while they were being interviewed, an officer heard a child, later identified as Rayner's, crying for his mother.
Vechiola told police he took Rayner's 3-year-old and 5-year-old children to his apartment, told them to go to sleep and left them alone, according to the statement before he returned to the pool area. The 3-year-old was found sleeping on a couch in Vechiola's apartment.
Rayner told police she didn't know where her 3-year-old was, but thought Vechiola had taken the child to his apartment.
Witnesses told police they saw Rayner and Vechioloa having sex in front of the children, and one person reportedly recorded the incident on a cell phone, according to the statement.
Rayner denied the children were present during any of the alleged sexcapades.
Jennifer Duchnowski, 29, was booked on one count of misdemeanor public sexual indecency and one count of felony public sexual indecency with a minor present. Duchnowski also told police she was not aware there were children at the spa during the sexual tryst.
