(KMOV) – Dozens of homes were deemed unlivable after a tornado tore through some parts of St. Charles County on Friday.
But that didn’t stop one storm chaser from tracking the twister and posting the video to YouTube.
“Tim H.” was driving on Missouri 94 when he spotted the EF-3 tornado near Frances Howell High School.
"I was acting silly, driving home from work. I didn't think it was really going to be a tornado, but it was. I turned the corner and there it was," Tim wrote on his YouTube page. "I am an example of what not to do."
Authorities said the 1,000-yard-wide tornado went on a 22-mile damage path through the southern and eastern parts of St. Charles into north St. Louis County.
Officials said eight people suffered minor injuries during the storms, which left 74 homes in St. Charles County uninhabitable due to extensive damage.
