(KMOV.com) – Three teenagers are in custody following a string of armed robberies against cab drivers near a St. Charles apartment complex.

After the initial robbery in early November, the St. Charles Police Department requested to be notified if any local cab company received any information for a fare from a certain phone number.

The department was notified when a cab company received a call for a fare from the suspected number in the 1700 block of Trails of Sunbrook on Wednesday. Officers then drove a van-style taxicab to the location with undercover surveillance officers waiting at a nearby parking lot.

Two men, later identified as Torres Juwan Jacobs, 18, and Christian Brandan Mosley, 18, approached the van as officers inside noticed one of the men appeared to have a firearm in his hand. The officers exited the van and took both men into custody. A replica firearm that was seen in the hand of Jacobs was also confiscated.

The officer behind the wheel of the taxicab noticed a third man run from the area, but was able to apprehend him a short time later. He was identified as LaShawn Donnell Wooten, 17.

The three men are currently being held on $75,000 cash only bond each. Jacobs and Mosley were both charged with first-degree robbery and Wooten received a first-degree attempted robbery charge.
