(KMOV) – Two women were arrested and another was at large following a lengthy police chase from Lake St. Louis into Maryland Heights Tuesday night.

The pursuit began after three women – 17, 18 and 20 - allegedly robbed the Lake St. Louis Sports Authority store around 8:30 p.m.

The pursuing officer spotted the suspects and blocked their vehicle near a cul-de-sac.

Police say the suspects then rammed the vehicle into the officer’s police cruiser before fleeing.

The suspects entered Interstate 64 and the pursuit continued onto eastbound Interstate 270. It then made its way onto northbound I-270 before continuing onto Page Avenue.

The suspects’ fled the vehicle on foot at Lackland and Page Avenue. Officers chased after them and apprehended the 17-year-old and 18-year-old moments later.

The third suspect evaded police and is still on the loose.  St. Louis County Police were assisting Lake St. Louis authorities in the search.

Police said the 18-year-old was taken to the hospital for minor injuries. She was released from custody but police said she most likely faces stealing charges. The 17-year-old remains in jail.

The officer involved in the accident was not injured.
