14. Dallas Cowboys - - S Mark Barron (Alabama)
Dallas will look for defense in the first round unless David DeCastro or another top offensive lineman slides a bit to them. Even then, I believe they'll take one of the top defensive players and add depth to the offensive line in the second or third round. They could look at defensive line help, especially an interior pass rusher, but the way the secondary was burned last year, they would be wise taking the top safety in the draft off the board.
It is a weaker year for safeties, but Barron is a deserved first round pick. He did not perform at the combine (which probably has something to do with a January hernia surgery), but has a great mixture of size and speed that allows him to cover a tight end just as well as he can light up a running back. He can make plays on the ball and can read a quarterback -- a trait he picked up during his time as one of the leaders of a dominant Alabama defense. -- JOSH DAVIS
