Steven Poole
Belleville police say Steven Poole of Okawville, Illinois was charged for one count of retail theft allegedly stealing at Keil’s Antiques and Gifts on November 7. Police say Poole was initially issued a non-traffic citation for retail theft and given a notice to appear in court. Then, Poole was admitted to Belleville Hospital for medical assistance where police learned through his criminal record that he was on probation for another retail theft in Franklin County, Illinois. Police say Poole was taken into custody where he was interviewed by a detective. The case was then presented to the St. Clair County State’s Attorney office where Poole was charged. Poole remains in custody at the St. Clair County Jail with bond set at $20,000.
