(KMOV) – Four teenagers have been arrested and charged for their involvement in a fight that placed one victim in serious condition at a hospital after being beaten with a bat in St. Peters on Sunday evening. Many of the participants from the large fight fled the scene in the 300 block of Madeira when St. Peters police arrived to the scene around 5:30 p.m. on Sunday. According to police, Dwayne Gibson, 19, initially got involved in an altercation with the victim, Michael Matthews, 19, when another suspect, Brandon Clapsill, 18, threatened others with a loaded .45 caliber handgun. Gibson grabbed an aluminum baseball bat and struck Matthews in the head. Police say another suspect, Tevin Parks, 19, struck Matthews at least two more times in the torso with a bat as he was injured on the ground. Parks and Gibson have been charged with first degree assault and armed criminal action. Bond has been set at $100,000 for both suspects. According to police, Joseph Lacombe, 18, struck a second victim with a bat in the hand and arm. The victim refused medical attention. Lacombe has been charged with second degree assault and armed criminal action. His bond has been set at $100,000. Police seized all of the weapons used in the altercation after issuing a search warrant from Clapsill’s residence. Clapsill has been charged with unlawful use of a weapon. His bond has been set at $50,000.
