(KMOV) -- A man is in police custody after he was accused of causing property damage and slashing the tires of several vehicles outside of an establishment in Madison County.
Todd M. Taylor was taken into custody last Friday at 9:05 p.m. outside of the Cottage Hills V.F.W after a patron reported to police he overheard Taylor was going to slash everyone's tires.
Police reported Taylor was upset that he had spent his rent money at the establishment located on 121 South Williams Street in Madison County, Illinois.
When deputies arrived on the scene, they reported Taylor appeared to be intoxicated, and was bleeding from his mouth and head. Taylor was also found with a knife in his possession.
Emergency personnel were called to the scene for medical treatment but Taylor refused.
Madison County Police reported they found five vehicles with tires slashed and one vehicle dented at the scene. Police estimate the damage caused to the vehicles is over $3,500.00.
At the time of his arrest, Taylor reported that he was battered by patrons inside the V.F.W. But police were unable to find any witnesses and Taylor could not identify any suspects.
Taylor is currently being held in the Madison County Jail with pending formal charges. Bond for Taylor is set at $35,000.00.
