LEONARDO DiCAPRIO BRINGS “GATSBY” TO CANNES
CANNES, France (AP) -- The dancers who were made popular during the Roarin’ 20’s were known as flappers. But the ones who walked the red carpet to honor “The Great Gatsby” could have used flippers, instead. That’s because there was heavy rain at the start of The Cannes Film Festival. The flappers did their thing anyway, as well as Gatsby star Leonardo DiCaprio, who officially declared the two-week festival under way. Among those on hand was director Steven Spielberg—who is jury president this year. He got a standing ovation at the opening ceremony.
