ELMO PUPPETEER WINS THREE DAYTIME EMMYS

LOS ANGELES (AP) -- An awkward Daytime Emmy Awards moment. Kevin Clash—the longtime voice of Elmo—won three awards for his work on Sesame Street—about six months after he quit amid allegations that he sexually abused underage boys. Clash won for outstanding performer in a children’s series and shared in two other awards handed out on Friday. That gives him 26 Daytime Emmys in his career. He had played Elmo for 28 years before his resigned.
