ANGELINA JOLIE SAYS SHE MAY HAVE OVARIES REMOVED, TOO
Credit: Getty Images
NEW YORK (AP) -- Angelina Jolie may not be done with surgery to reduce her risk of cancer. In the same op-ed piece in which she revealed she had both her breasts removed, she noted that she might also have her ovaries removed. She wrote in “The New York Times” that she had “started with the breasts” because her risk of breast cancer was higher than that for ovarian cancer. The same faulty gene cited for her increased risk of breast cancer can also be a sign that she’s susceptible to ovarian cancer, too. In her essay, Jolie didn’t say how long she has known she has the faulty gene.
