O.J. SIMPSON RETURNS TO COURT

LAS VEGAS (AP) -- He looked older, heavier and more tired than he did the last time we saw him in court. O.J. Simpson returned to a Las Vegas courtroom yesterday in hopes of someday getting out a free man. He is asking for a new trial in the armed robbery-kidnapping case that sent him to prison. Those waiting for a glimpse of Simpson at the hearing got to hear Simpson before they could see him. The chains that bound his hands to his waist and restrained his feet could be heard rattling as he made his way into the courtroom. After Simpson was seated, a guard removed his handcuffs and linked them to the chair arms on either side of him. Simpson is seeking a new trial, claiming his lawyer botched his case.
