WESLEY SNIPES: MUST SURRENDER BEFORE HOLIDAY
Credit: AP
ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) -- Wesley Snipes' home for the holidays will indeed be a prison cell. The actor had been ordered to surrender Thursday to begin serving his three-year sentence in his tax case. The actor had asked to delay his sentence until after the holidays -- in part because his four young children would be affected because the "surrender date is in the middle of the holiday season." But a judge turned down that request, saying Snipes has had plenty of time during his appeals process to prepare his family for his incarceration, since he was sentenced more than two years ago. Snipes was convicted in 2008 on three misdemeanor counts of willful failure to file income tax returns.
