"THE FIGHTER" - CHRISTIAN BALE

LOS ANGELES (AP) -- Christian Bale was like Forrest Gump when he needed to lose a lot of weight to play a drug-addicted boxer in "The Fighter." Bale says he ran "for hours on end." He says he felt really healthy as he was dropping the pounds. He says whenever he's had to lose weight for a role before, he would joke that he snorted coke, but he knows that wouldn't be funny this time, considering Dickie Eklund's drug problem. "The Fighter" opens in some cities tomorrow.
