FLORIDA AUTHORITIES PARDON JIM MORRISON

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (AP) -- Jim Morrison has been pardoned for his 1969 indecent exposure conviction. Florida Governor Charlie Crist asked for the pardon and the Clemency Board unanimously granted it yesterday. Morrison had been convicted for exposing himself during a Miami concert, and he was appealing that when he died in 1971. Crist called the conviction a "blot" on the record of an accomplished artist for "something he may or may not have done." Patricia Kennealy Morrison, who says she was Morrison's wife, calls the pardon a political ploy and the conviction should be overturned rather than pardoned.
