NEW YORK (AP) -- If Colin Firth were going to play a cabbie in a movie, he'd drive a cab and hang out with other drivers to get to know them. But he didn't have the same access before playing King George the sixth in "The King's Speech." The most he could do was watch the royal family from afar to see how they behaved and the relationship they had with their subjects. He noticed that once people got near Prince Charles, they'd get nervous and excited. He says experiencing that your whole life has to affect "how you see the human race." Firth just got a Golden Globe nomination for his role. The movie opens in more theaters on Friday.
