GEORGE CLINTON SUES BLACK EYED PEAS

LOS ANGELES (AP) -- The Black Eyed Peas are on George Clinton's bad side. He says in a federal lawsuit the Peas used elements of his song "(Not Just) Knee Deep" in remixes of their song "Shut Up." Clinton says he never granted permission for that, even though he was asked in 2009. He says his signature on a release form letter was forged and he's never been paid for the remixes. He's asking for damages and an injunction to stop further sales of the remixes. A lawyer for the Peas declined comment. Last week, KC and the Sunshine Band's Harry Wayne Casey said he believes the Peas song "Love You Long Time" copies his song "Give It Up" without his permission.
