The San Francisco Giants beat the Detroit Tigers 4-3 on Oct. 28 to complete a four-game sweep and win their second World Series title in three years. It marked the end to an amazing run for a team that refused to quit. The Giants won three straight to avoid elimination in the NLDS vs. Cincinnati, then did it again in the NLCS against St. Louis.
