It didn't have the same spectacle as Beijing 2008, but the Opening Ceremony of the London Olympics on July 27 was never meant to compete. It was as British as it gets, with cameos from James Bond actor Daniel Craig, a skydiving lookalike of The Queen, Harry Potter themes and a comical take on the Chariots of Fire theme by actor Rowan Atkinson.
