WASHINGTON (AP) — President Barack Obama is attending a fundraiser near the White House, with no media allowed.
Democratic officials said about 20 people were at the campaign event Friday, which cost $35,800 a person to attend. The money will benefit the Obama Victory Fund, a joint fund of Obama's campaign and the Democratic National Committee.
White House spokeswoman Jamie Smith says the roundtable discussion was closed to journalists because Obama was not planning to deliver formal remarks. The president was attending along with senior White House adviser Valerie Jarrett.
