CHICAGO (AP) -- Police say a 23-year-old woman is charged with a misdemeanor after the Chicago couple who hired her to baby-sit came home to find her falling-down drunk.
The Chicago Tribune reports that police charged the sitter with endangering the health of a child.
The couple left their 13-month-old toddler in her care on Christmas Eve. The child was unharmed.
Police say the couple returned home to find her slumped against the kitchen counter. A police report says she tried to walk but fell down multiple times. That's when the child's mother became alarmed and called an ambulance.
Police say the sitter was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital, where her blood-alcohol level was measured at 0.362 percent, which is more than four times the legal limit for driving of 0.08 percent.
