(KMOV) – In the latest edition of News 4 Schools, Andre Hepkins found out how a school went from being the worst performing elementary school in St. Charles to the best in state test standards.

School officials at the Lincoln Elementary School say the drastic pump in scores came after they made changes to the grading system.

The St. Charles School District started using the standards-based grading system in kindergarten back in 2008. By 2010, all the elementary schools had it and then it was in both middle schools by 2012.  In 2013, the district started to phase it in at the high school level and will do so over a four-year period.
