The family of a 3-year-old girl nearly killed by pit bulls and who says they were asked to leave a KFC restaurant because her scars were disturbing customers has rejected a $30,000 donation from the fast food chain.

KFC said it investigated the alleged incident involving Victoria Wilcher’s family, and even though the company found no evidence it actually happened, it still offered to help pay for the girl’s medical bills.

The family turned down the money because “we didn’t feel it was appropriate to accept it after everything KFC has done,” a family’s attorney told The Clarion-Ledger.
