Burkesville, Ky. -- Detectives with the Kentucky State Police are continuing to investigate the circumstances behind a shooting that left a 2-year-old girl killed.
Police said that shooting happened Tuesday afternoon in Cumberland County, near the Tennessee border.
According to a news release, a 5-year-old boy was playing with a .22 caliber rifle when he accidently shot his 2-year-old sister. That child was transported to Cumberland County Hospital where she was pronounced dead.
An autospy will be performed Wednesday.
