HOUSTON—A Stafford mother with ties to a Hispanic gang stalked a teen boy she felt was bothering her twin sons and forced the kids to fight, according to Houston police.

Ruth Aracely Lopez, 32, was charged with felony injury to a child.

A 14-year-old boy said he had just returned home from school on September 4 when he heard yelling outside his apartment. When he went outside, he saw Lopez, her twin sons and an unknown male standing near an Expedition. A group of onlookers had also formed to see what the commotion was about.

He recognized the twin boys as students at his school and the woman, he said, had stalked him several times before on the way home from school. The teen said the woman had cut him off several times in the Expedition, throwing up gang signs while shouting “SWC.” SWC stands for Southwest Cholos, a Hispanic gang, investigators said.

The teen said Lopez yelled for the boys to “get him” and they all rushed toward him. Lopez allegedly pushed her twin boys into the victim, then the unknown male lifted his shirt, displaying a semi-automatic hand gun in his waistband and punched him in the left eye.

The teen began to fight back, and the brawl continued until a neighbor came out and threatened to call the cops.

After the fight, Lopez pulled out a camera and took a picture of the victim, saying she would have him hurt or killed if he ever messed with her twins again, according to court documents.

The victim said, as a result of the attack, he experienced pain around his neck, face, left eye and arms.

Police investigated and did gang cards for the suspects. They also made a photo lineup. The victim was able to positively identify Lopez as the woman who orchestrated the attack, according to court documents. Her bail was set at $5,000.
