SAN ANTONIO -- A man survived being run over by a train Monday morning near Frio City Road and Brady Blvd.
According to San Antonio Police, the crew of a Union Pacific train was traveling at a slow speed and unable to stop in time. The 44-year-old victim was discovered between the train's engine and first car.
Investigators said the man was found lying vertically on the train track. His positioning probably saved his life, police said.
Officers said the man smelled of alcohol. It's unclear if he intentionally laid down on the train tracks.
He was taken to University Hospital with a cut to his head and bruising to his side.
Officers said the man could face a charge of criminal trespassing.
