HOUSTON – Houston police said early Tuesday a man was sent to the hospital with a gunshot wound after a woman he met at a club tried to rob him.
According to officers, it was around 2 a.m. when the man was taking the woman to an apartment complex in the 2600 block of Westridge near Reliant Stadium. Police said when they arrived, a man with a gun approached and joined the woman. The pair then tried to rob the male victim.
Police said the victim put his vehicle in reverse and started to flee the scene when he was shot once in his chin. He then crashed into a corner apartment near the complex’s exit.
Police said the vehicle went through the living room, but no other injuries were reported. The shooting victim was sent to the hospital and was expected to survive.
The suspects, who were not described, fled the scene in an unknown vehicle.
