HOUSTON – Police said it took several hours for someone to notice a motorcyclist hit a Gulf Freeway retaining wall Thursday morning, killing him.
According to the Houston Police Department, it's believe the crash happened in the early morning hours, but it was around 5:30 a.m. a pedestrian came across the scene.
Investigators said the biker hit the retaining wall for the exit ramp from the Gulf Freeway southbound onto the 610 Loop eastbound. Both the biker and his motorcycle went over the wall, falling into a grassy area under the freeway.
A passerby later found the body and called 911.
Investigators closed the ramp for several hours while crews worked to remove the wreckage.
